Charlotte's mother is a doctor who is very busy and often referred to as [[Dr. Johanssen]]. Dr. Johanssen is a minor character but shows up more than [[Mr. Johanssen]]. Charlotte seems to be close to her parents, as shown in many of the books, particularly Book #35 [[Stacey And The Mystery Of Stoneybrook]] when Charlotte was going to be staying with Stacey and [[Mrs. McGill ]]in their house while Charlotte's parents were away and she didn't want them to go and was missing her parents terribly.

== Plot ==
Charlotte's nickname is Char and at first, she was very shy and quiet and had trouble making friends. She clung to her parents when they were going out and was unhappy until Stacey helped her come out of her shell. The kids at school called Charlotte a teacher's pet because she was very intelligent and the work was too easy for her in her 2nd grade class. She always finished her work before everyone else and they found her a show off and teacher's pet. At the end of book #3 , it is said that Charlotte will be moving up into the third grade.

In "[[Little Miss Stoneybrook ...and Dawn]]", Claudia convinces Charlotte to enter the Little Miss Stoneybrook beauty pageant for girls ages 5-8 in Stoneybrook. Charlotte is not very enthusiastic about it because she does not think she is pretty enough to win a beauty pageant. Claudia thinks Charlotte is pretty but tells her that it's not just about beauty, there is also talent and interview. Charlotte does not know what to do for talent because she thinks the only thing she knows how to do is read, but that gives her the idea that she can memorize part of a story and act it out. But when pageant day comes, she is too scared and during her talent act she leaves the stage and cries and her parents have to take her home. Claudia feels really bad for pushing her into doing the pageant.
