Continuity
- Dawn and Mary Anne gave each other matching presents which they do often in other books.
- This is the last Dawn book of the mystery series. This is also her last book in The Baby-Sitters Club series before the California Diaries starts.
- Dawn recalls meeting the Barretts on page 119 which first happens in Dawn and the Impossible Three.
- Kristy leaves for Hawaii which leads to her being gone in the following book.
Inconsistencies
- During the Friends Day Jamie Newton eats three cupcakes and on the next page Claudia "matches Nicky" by also eating three.
- Dawn describes herself as very organized in The Ghost at Dawn's House, however, here she overbooks herself being unorganized.
