Gale Galligan is the author/illustrator who succeeded Raina Telgemeier in adapting the graphic novels.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Galligan is an Asian-American cartoonist and comics advocate living in Pleasantville, New York. They’re known for their four bestselling BABY-SITTERS CLUB graphic novel adaptations, as well as an unofficial Garfield fan-comic that gained some small amount of notoriety a few years ago (please don’t tell Jim Davis). They can also be spotted in The Claudia Kishi Club, a short documentary on Netflix.

Gale holds an MFA in Sequential Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design. When they aren’t making comics, Gale enjoys knitting, reading, and spending time with their roomies: Lemon the leopard gecko, rabbits Dipper and Serena, Patrick the husband, and Robin the child.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Galligan's author profile at the end of the Dawn graphic novel says that she helped out with Raina Telgemeier (the illustrator of the previous BSC graphic novels)’s non-BSC book Drama.
