Janet Gates is a member of the Baby-sitters Agency, a rival club that only appeared in The Truth About Stacey.
Biography[]
Not much was known about Janet when the agency started, but she was first mentioned when Kristy told the club that Janet and Leslie reformed and was gonna join the club (which was a trick to end the club rather than promote it). Janet goes to the next meeting with Leslie, where she is revealed to be thirteen years old. The BSC get two new clients, whom Janet and Leslie go after in order to ruin the club. The next meeting, the Baby-Sitters Club finds out that Leslie and Janet didn't sit for their jobs. The next day, they see that the agency fooled them. It is unknown what happened to Janet after she told the club that they were tricked, but it is possible she is handing out fliers for Makeovers, Inc.
She is now a freshman at Stoneybrook High School according to The Complete Guide to the Baby-Sitters Club.

- She is mentioned to be at SMS in Jessi's Gold Medal by mistake. She ran the backwards race for SMS's sports festival.
