"Jessi and the Superbrat" is the fourth episode of Season 2 of the Netflix reboot.  It is based on Jessi and the Superbrat, the twenty-seventh book of the original Baby-Sitters Club series.

Episode Description[]

Passion meets persistence as Jessi struggles with a rough patch in her ballet career, all while signing on to babysit a pint-sized vlogging superstar.

  • Derek does move to LA, however, it's only for part of the year.
  • Derek does try to convince Jessi to try something different outside of dance.
  • She gets the part of the swan maiden.

Differences from Source Material[]

  • Derek is a Tik Toker and and used to be friends with the Pike Triplets. He was originally friends with Nicky Pike and an actor.
  • Derek doesn't have his mom or a younger brother like in the source material.
  • When Jessi brings up potentially going into acting or modeling, her parents let her research it and limit the area to Stamford. In the episode Mrs. Ramsey scold Jessi that she shouldn't give up on dance.
