Summary[]
Karen stops talking to her brothers and the boys in her class. After getting into a fight with Pamela, Karen bets that she wouldn't play football. There's a class wide game of football in chapter 20 without Pamela and her friends. Hank threw the ball in the woods, Nancy scored but its unclear for which team, Terri and Tammy switch places, and Natalie shouts home run when Bobby scores a touch down.

Inconsistencies
- On the cover Karen is wearing her blue glasses which is supposed to be her reading glasses. Her pink ones are her regular use glasses.
- Rocky is a girl and Midgie is a boy, but in almost all other books it's the other way around.
- The principal is said to be a man in this book, but the principal has always been Mrs. Titus.

- The reprint changes the last lines on the back cover summary from " And maybe then Karen's brothers will stop treating her like a girl!" to "And maybe then Karen's brothers will finally be fair!"
- On the dedication page it says "This book is for my goddaughter Rachel Andrea Eichhorn born July 2, 1990. Welcome, Rachel Ann."
- Karen thinks of Brother’s Day, but it is a real holiday. The National Brother's Day is May 24th, which was a Friday when this book was released.
