Louie Thomas Kristys dog from book 11

Louie was Kristy Thomas' family's dog that died in Kristy and the Snobs. Louie first appeared in Kristy's Great Idea. Louie is a minor character, and played a bigger role in Kristy and the Snobs.

Biography[]

The entire Thomas family loved Louie very much, but Louie was really more David Michael's dog than anyone else's. Louie slept with David Michael every night. It was also David Michael who discovered the rock song called Brother Louie that Louie barked along with every time they played it. Kristy mentions that they got Louie when David Michael was six months old.

Louie was made fun of by the snobs (Tiffany and Shannon Kilbourne) in Kristy and the Snobs. They repented when Louie died, however, and attended his funeral after being invited by Karen Brewer. Also, Shannon gave Kristy one of her dog Astrid's puppies later on. After Louie died, Kristy began wearing a baseball cap with a picture of a collie on it in Louie's memory.

His toys were buried in the Brewer-Thomas' backyard, since they couldn't bury Louie.

In Jessi and the Dance School Phantom, Kristy mentions that he was once in a pet show and won second place.

Health[]

Louie had arthritis and poor eyesight when he was older. He was unable to walk on stairs and lost control of his hind legs. He was eventually put to sleep at the vet's because the Thomases and the Brewers didn't want him to suffer any more. Louie dislikes going to the vet, even for a check up. Louie always whimpered when they were halfway to the vet.
