Back Cover Summary[]
Bellair's, Stoneybrook's classy department store, is hosting a big-time Fashion Week — and Stacey's going to be a model!
At first, it's tons of fun. But Stacey's doesn't like the feeling that someone's out to scare all the models... or worse. Questionable "accidents" plague the girls, and threatening notes keep appearing. As the days go by, the incidents increase. The models — including Stacey — are all in danger. Can Stacey figure out who's behind the scary doings before the threats start coming true?
Summary[]
Subplot[]
Abby Stevenson sees Lindsey DeWitt and Buddy Barrett handling a cigarette and talks to them and their siblings about the dangerous of smoking. They and the other BSC charges then decide to hold a Stoneybrook Smoke Out. They round up even more kids to pass out fliers and try to convince some parents (and other important adults in their lives) to give up smoking for a day in the hopes that some will be inspired to try to quit for good.

Trivia[]
- The cover of the book is likely based on chapter 11 where there’s a sixties look.
- Stacey acts like she's a famous model in front of her mirror.
- This book and Karen's Big Job are released back to back and include the same theme of Take Your Daughter to Work so they likely take place around the same time. According to Karen's Big Job this book takes place in April.
- Stacey talks about modeling before, which might be a call out to the episode Stacey's Big Break.
- Kristy reorganized her mom’s desk at work.
- Kristy didn’t understand much about her mom’s job, and Claudia didn’t understand much about her dad’s job.
- Richard is a corporate lawyer (though other books suggest he's a prosecutor); he’s rarely in court.
- Mary Anne doesn't think she could ever be a lawyer as they have to be "so mean" sometimes.
- Both Jessi and Abby copied their faces on the copy machines in their mothers' offices. No one saw Jessi, and Abby was caught by her mom's boss (who, fortunately, had a good sense of humor and didn't get upset).
- Kristy thinks that being part of a beauty pageant would be fun in Little Miss Stoneybrook ...and Dawn, but here she doesn't like the idea of modeling.
- Stacey admits if anyone was well suited for the life of a model it would be Cokie.
- The Barrett/DeWitt kids have a gerbil and fish as pets.
- Jobs taken but not (or partly) seen include: Mary Anne for Charlotte and Abby for the Hobarts
- Mallory is the one that found the scissors from the original sabotage.
- Stacey says that she's not a very ambitious person.
- This is one of the few instances when Cokie is nice to someone in the BSC, in this case Stacey.
- Kristy wears a dress to Watson's funeral for his cigars.
- In chapter 9, Karen refers to her father as Watson instead of Daddy.
