The Baby-Sitters Club is a TV series Scholastic, Inc. produced in 1990 based on the original book series, which aired on the Disney Channel, HBO, and Nickelodeon. Thirteen episodes were filmed before the series was canceled. Each episode was released on a VHS tape. A reboot was released by Netflix in July 2020. The series first aired from January 1, 1990 to March 26, 1990 on HBO.

There are various versions of the theme song, entitled "Say Hello To Your Friends," that exist. The ones heard at the beginning of each episode during the opening credits varied depending on the length of the opening and the beginning of each episodes' starting conversation, there were also two versions used for the end credits depending on the syndication release. An extended version of the song is heard on the soundtrack for the book series that contains new instrumental and vocal recordings. The song was written by American two-time Emmy winner, composer, lyricist, conductor, and producer, Glen Roven. The song's vocals were performed by Emily Bindiger. The soundtrack version was performed by Leslie Spiro.

The episodes were originally released on VHS by GoodTimes circa 1990-1992, and later released with different covers (but the same cover art) by KidVision circa 1993-1995. The KidVision VHS tapes came with extras such as stickers, a temporary tattoo, or a Collector's Mini Book.

All episodes from the series have been released digitally on Amazon.com, YouTube, Google Play, Vudu,and iTunes. The episodes are a mix of the releases on the GoodTimes and KidVision VHSs and are released complete out of their airing order.
Trivia
- None of the episodes in the original 1990s series are based on any of the novels and are all original stories.
- Many characters from the books are in the show, except Courtney from "Kristy and the Great Campaign". Courtney is a new character that wasn't in the original books.
- Stacey's modeling career in “Stacey's Big Break” is mentioned in the books twice. Once in Stacey's Movie and the other in Stacey and the Fashion Victim.
- Claudia's room was furnished by the North American branch of IKEA.
- The title for the final episode, "The Baby-sitters Remember", was later used for the eleventh novel in the Super Special series.
