The Truth About Stacey is the second book in the BSC Graphic Novels series, illustrated by Raina Telgemeier. It is based on the original novel The Truth About Stacey. While the original novel is the third in the Baby-sitters Club series, the graphic novel is the second because Telgemeier chose to skip the second book in the original series.

Poor Stacey. She just moved to a new town, is still coming to terms with her diabetes, and is facing baby-sitting problems left and right. Fortunately, Stacey has three new friends — Kristy, Claudia, and Mary Anne. Together they're the BSC — and they will deal with whatever's thrown their way... even if it's a rival baby-sitting club.
Plot[]
Stacey McGill, the new girl who had just moved from New York City, is diabetic and is facing unsolved problems with past friends but now enemies, overprotected parents, and a new rival babysitting club. But luckily she isn't alone. She faces her problems by herself and with a little help with her friends.
Maureen Spencer and Edward McGill - Stacey's parents began to become very overprotective parents over Stacey when she was diagnosed with diabetes. Something that occurs often for Stacey is doctors' appointments coming one after another. Stacey is meant to see another doctor which she ends up not seeing. The problem is resolved, even though they don't take Stacey to a lot of doctors' appointments now unless needed, Stacey's parents are overprotective about her diets. They don't see how Stacey can take care of her diabetes herself, too.
Laine Cummings - Stacey and Laine were best friends until Stacey was diagnosed with diabetes. Laine convinced all of her friends to no longer be friends with Stacey which caused Stacey not even feeling bad for herself anymore when her parents decide to move to Stoneybrook. The problem is resolved in New York City and now Laine sends letters and calls Stacey all the time.
Subplot[]
- The Baby-sitters Agency - This is the main problem in the story and is a rival babysitting group that doesn't last very long because of the BSCs taking them down with a little help with their client's children. Kristy Thomas tries to make the Baby-sitters Agency mad by asking other kids to join the BSCs and bringing in kid-kits. The problem is solved when the Baby-sitters Agency goes out of business and do makeup tips instead.

- Laine has shorter hair and braces.
- Janet is fourteen and Leslie is thirteen.
- Stacey writes in the notebook for her sitting job with Charlotte.
