Uncle Joe or Joe Pike is a member of the Pike Family and John Pike's uncle. He lives at Stoneybrook Manor. He is first introduced in Mallory and the Ghost Cat.

Appearance & Personality[]

Joe has a rugged face, his hair is white, and he has clear blue eyes. He is thin and has a slightly hunched over posture. He wears little spectacles with wire rims. He wears starched white shirt buttoned all the way up to the neck in Mallory and the Ghost Cat. Uncle Joe also has a dry papery voice.

Joe is an introvert and he doesn't like crowds, only likes being with people one or two people at a time in Mallory and the Ghost Cat, and also doesn't like to leave his room.

Biography[]

In Claudia and the First Thanksgiving, he is in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.

In Mallory's Christmas Wish, Mallory says that he's a very confusing guy; he can be so gruff and cranky, but also seems so frail and alone. Uncle Joe is not the easiest person to be around. Mr. Connor is his roommate and Joe would play his TV loud to drive him out of the room, even though he's not paying attention to it.

In Mallory and the Ghost Cat it's mentioned he used to go fishing and play trick with John Pike. He comes to say with the Pike Family for a month and lives in the den. Sometimes he gets a little depressed. He can't stand dirt on his hands. He is pretty standoffish. He makes odd little collections like pikes of scrap paper. He bought John a puppy named Spanky for his eighth birthday when he was young. John remembers Joe to be the greatest uncle. John remembers he and Joe once snuck a dog into the circus. He would pull a nickel out of his ear every time he saw him. John even recounts the story of when they got stuck in the rain together on the way to the fishing hole. Joe has been in and out of nursing homes before settling in at Stoneybrook Manor.
